Hello online location. All of you online today. Hello Tacoma.
Man, I’m just I’m just so uh thankful and grateful for the opportunity that each and every one of us have to be
children of God and to be connected to God’s family. And I want to just say as I welcome all of
our locations today, I also want to welcome every guest who might be visiting our church. We would be honored
today to be your church and I would be honored to be your pastor.
I know I know it takes a lot of courage to, you know, to go somewhere different and new and you may not know anyone. You may have come with a friend and know
just someone. But I want to just let you know today that some of you perhaps are even what I would just call believers
who don’t have a church home. And the events of the last few years have caused a lot of believers to stop going and
being a part of the church. And I want to I want to ask while I’m talking this way, I want to ask all of our church
family to consider who you might know that is a believer and not connected into the community of the church and to
actively pursue them and compel them and to encourage them to come to church with you.
specifically ask them to come to Champion Center first
and then if it’s not if it’s not the church for them, encourage them that God
has a place for them and assure them and do everything you can to help them get planted in God’s house.
Amen. do everything you can.
Chances are you’ll hear me say this again because I feel like the Lord has been has put this on my heart and
specifically the story of Jesus who told the parable about the shepherd and there
were 99 in the fold and there was one that was missing and he went after the one.
And I thought to myself, first of all, that was a that was a a sheep that was
once belonged and that was someone that was a person who once was a part and it drifted away for whatever reason.
And I would say today, just based on what what I know, there’s a lot of new people that are coming to the Lord right now, but I would say at least in the
Northwest, I would say it’s probably It’s probably not 100 or 99 to1. It’s
probably 6040 in the last few years. People who have they no longer have a church home.
They may think they don’t want one. They may think they don’t need one. And that’s where you come in. Put yourself out there.
I said put yourself out there and let’s go on a journey.
Amen. And will you pray with me along that line? Will you just pray for the unchurched believers of the Northwest to come back to church? Amen.
It’s it’s vital. It’s it’s their future.
It’s their legacy. All of that is connected to that decision. So, Amen.
In week one of our good fararma series, we talked about how important it is to not allow bad seasons and bad
circumstances to hinder us from sewing good seeds. I hope you remember because it’s been two weeks. We had a guest last weekend, but
two weeks ago when I I talked about I opened up our good fararma series and I talked about don’t hold back.
And that’s what we’re going to begin with today. We’re just going to begin second our second uh installment of the good pharmacist. Are you ready?
Come on. Are you ready?
Amen. I want to encourage you to get something to write with or whether it’s on your phone or wherever it is, just just get ready to take some note. I I
think I’m going to say something worth remembering. I I hope so. So say with me, “My heart’s open.” My heart’s open. And my mind’s ready.
Make me better, God. Make me better, God.
By your word, by your word. I receive it. I receive it. And I believe it. I believe it. And I won’t be the same again. I won’t be the same.
In Jesus name. In Jesus name. You may be seated today.
Ecclesiastes chap 11 teaches us to not be weather watchers, but seed swowers. And here’s how it
goes. In verse 5 it says, “Whoever watches the wind will not plant and whoever looks at the clouds will not reap.” In other words, we get
discouraged if we watch the wind and we stare at the clouds because a lot of days the weather is not conducive to
moving life forward. Verse six says, “Sow your seed in the morning.” It’s like it’s like get up in the morning no
matter what the weather is. Sew your seed. And at evening, let your hands not be idle. Don’t hold back. No matter what
the weather is, don’t hold back. No matter what the circumstances is, don’t hold back.
No matter the the way you feel, don’t hold back. Now, today, I want to talk about seeding your future.
Not just seeing your future. I know a lot of people talk about seeing your future, but today I want to talk about
eeding your future. Can you say that with me? Seeding my future. Say it
again. Seeding my future. So, don’t hold back. Seed your future. Let’s do those
together. Don’t hold back. Seed your future. Genesis 8 22 says, “As long as
the earth endures, seed time and harvest, cold and heat,
summer and winter, day and night will never cease.” No one in this room doubted whether or not the sun would
come up even behind the clouds this morning.
No one doubted and does doubt but what night will fall in a few hours.
Everyone lives based on that truth that there is a morning and there is an
evening, there is a day, there is a night. We all can see the weather shifting right now.
We all know that thing that that fall is here. Winter’s on the way, baby. It is time to get your jacket out, your coat out, get your kids ready.
We know cold and heat is part of life.
And I want you to just notice that seed time and harvest is in that category.
Seed time and harvest is a universal law built into the fabric
and function of the earth.
Meaning that in the same way that you embrace the reality of cold and hot, summer and winter, day and night, you
can also be sure and absolutely certain that your life is in a constant state of sewing and reaping.
Your harvest today is from seed sown yesterday.
Your harvest tomorrow will be from seed sown today.
If you’re taking notes, write this down.
There’s a harvest in your future. You could say in my future. There’s a
harvest in my future.
I want you to imagine if you would your future as an empty field, specifically a dirt field.
And when you look at a dirt field, you realize there’s lots of options.
There’s all kinds of possibility and potential, but there’s nothing there yet.
It’s a big field of opportunity with nothing in it yet.
When it comes to agricultural law, we can learn a lot about life. And here’s one of those
things is that whether you do something or you do nothing, there’s a harvest in your future.
Yeah.
In other words, people who are passive, they might just think that there’s no harvest, but there actually is.
They have stuff in the field, too.
They end up with a harvest of weeds and crab grass.
They end up with I don’t care weeds. And all I want to do is have some fun.
Crab grass. Video game. Crab grass. Can we talk right now?
Tick tock crab grass.
There’s a harvest. I said there’s a harvest in your future.
I don’t care who you are. I don’t care what your name is. I don’t care your background. I’m just telling you there’s
a harvest in your future. You can’t get around this. It’s not avoidable. There’s a harvest in your future.
See, God looks at your life much the same way I’ve encouraged you to imagine it right now.
and and God put man on earth to have dominion, the Bible says, and to rule over the earth. And he literally a lot
of lot of Christians are constantly caught up and delayed and held in
bondage by wondering what does the Lord want me to do?
And I agree and I practice through faith, seeking the Lord about my future, asking
him to guide me to help me. But God never puts the seed of your future in the ground.
God’s given you the freedom to choose. Amen. He’s given you creative power.
The same kind of power that he’s given the farmer.
He’s given you seeds to work with. There are seeds in your hand right now that
you can use to seed your future. That’s right.
Now, you might say, “Well, there’s a lot of stuff, Pastor Kevin, I’m living in right now that I don’t deserve it. It’s
not something that I created.” And and you know what? That’s fair. You could be living in a harvest today that you don’t want for your future.
And I have good news for you. You can seed your future.
And good pharma on your part will produce a better harvest in your life.
Someone might be living in the undeserved harvest today from decisions that you didn’t make.
You could be living in, you know, a a undeserved harvest. In other words, like you weren’t the one who made the
decision that created the harvest you’re living in right now. Could have been your parents.
It could have been other individuals or people and there’s a harvest in your life and you’re going, I didn’t deserve
that. I did not sew that seed in my life. And that’s true. The good news is
is that you can seed your future and you can create a different legacy for your children. in your future than
the one you inherited in your past.
And the interesting and great thing about seeding your future is that the more you seed your future with the good, the less room there is for the other stuff.
The other stuff won’t have space to grow in your life and in your future by being proactive and saying, “We’re not going that way.
Like as for me in my house, we’re going to serve the Lord. We’re going to do it this way. I grew up I grew up with that mindset. I got a new mindset. I got a
new direction in my life. And our family is going to go a different direction.
When you start doing that, you are seeding a different future, not only for you, but for your children and your children’s children.
You might be today, you might be not physically healthy. You might be out of shape physically. There could be things going into that that create complexity.
It could be a condition of health that you you’re like, I that’s just where I’m at. This is what I struggle with. And so
today, you could get discouraged. But if you go back to Ecclesiastes 11, it says,
“Get up in the morning and do your push-ups.” Come on.
Not literally, but if it’s not your arm that’s hurt, do something with your arm. If you’re dealing with injuries, the trainers will
tell you you can work around your injuries. Like if you’re dealing with some kind of thing that has happened sickness-wise, don’t give up too quick.
You if you can’t run, you might can walk.
I if if you can’t get in a marathon, you might can get around the block. That’s right. Like I’m just telling you that it
where you are physically doesn’t have to be a permanent condition that you embrace and you accept. You can seed your future.
I said you can seed your future.
You know, today I’m I’m uh I am uh over 60. I’m trying to remember how old I am.
I don’t dwell on it very much, but I am I’m definitely past that point. And so I when you when you hit a certain age, if
you live with anticipation of life and future, something shifts on the inside of you, and many of you can attest to
this today, but you start to think in you start to think differently. You start to number your days like scripture
tells you to. You start to think about what between here and there, what do I want my future to be like? How do I want to make my life count? How do I want it
to matter? And one of the things that matters to me is that I want to be I want to be here for my grandchildren.
I want to be here I’d love to be here for their children. And one, it doesn’t it’s not a big deal for me if I think
that way to to go get my aerobics in or to get my exercise in or to lose a little bit bit of weight cuz if I can
just seed my future, I’m doing my part to create and sew the right seed into the field of my future. I don’t want to
be I don’t want to be in my 70s and starting to think about oh wow here I am
way overweight way out of shape my heart might stop before then I want to do it
now I talked to a staff member this week and and Jonathan from Yakamal give him a little clap over there in Yakimal right
now you know okay we’ll give him a clap everywhere right now he just he’s a young man and he told me he was one day sitting on the couch and his son came
and said, “Come on, dad.” You know, and let’s go play. And he said, I’m like, “No, son.” And then when the child walked away, he’s like, “I ain’t doing this no more.” He had been an athlete.
He was in good shape. He knew how to get in good shape, but he was now a couch potato.
65 lbs has gone off of his body. He has energy. He has vitality. He has life.
Way to go, Jonathan. And I and I’m just telling you today, don’t this is a very practical part of life. A lot of times we want to delegate to God things that he delegated to us.
Don’t delegate upward. Just take your life for what it is and realize the power of sewing a seed for your future.
Like the song we sang, take him at his word. seed time and harvest is in effect
right now in all of our lives. Come on, can you give the Lord a great big hand right now and thank him?
You might have a lot of regrets relationally, but you can seed your future. You may not be able to fix or repair a
relationship from the past, but you can start seeding your future. You may not be able to take back that conversation
or what you said or what you did that caused an offense between you and your husband or you and your wife, but you
can certainly seed your future. You there there’s two simple words called I’m sorry. And there is there is a
change of behavior that can come your way. There is a humility that you can embrace. And when you do, you are
seeding your future. Are you hearing me today? You can see your future in all of these ways in your life.
Your future left to itself will not produce a good harvest.
If you want a good harvest, you have to seed your future.
Wishing for a harvest is not the same as planting a harvest.
Praying for a harvest is not the same as planting for a harvest.
That’s like a farmer sitting on a porch wishing over the field
and praying, “God, give me corn this year. Corn’s bringing a high value right now. I see corn in my future.
I’m believing for corn. Lord God, I’m believing for corn. Bring corn up out of the God looks back at him and he says, “You don’t get it. You don’t understand.
I don’t put seed in your field for you.
I give you the strength to get in your field. I will come alongside you. I will help you. I will assist you. I will
bless you. But you got to get off the porch and you got to get in the field and you got to start sewing seed.
Somebody shout, “Amen.” Amen.
Tomorrow’s harvest is determined by what kind of seed you sew today. Boy, this is good.
I hope you’re writing. I hope you’re remembering. I hope you had something. I don’t know. One of the worst statistics for for a pastor is that tomorrow, this
time, you’ll remember 2% of what I said today. I hate that.
But that’s the stats. That’s why I just encourage people like do something to remember. Like go watch it again tonight, take notes, go whatever it is.
but this whole this whole idea that I’m sharing with you today
is uh is founded in or it is based in one really clear dynamic
and that is when you get ready to activate and be part of
God’s creative process that there are kinds of seed
that scripture talks about starts in Genesis chapter 1 and it says it in Genesis chapter 1 at
least like 10 times I’m guessing and that that everything God has created will produce after its own kind.
God said, “Let the land produce vegetation, seedbearing plants, trees on the land that bear fruit with seeds in
it according to their what? Their various
kinds.” Galatians 6 and7 says, “Whatever a man sws,
whatever kind of seed a man sws is the harvest.” the kind of harvest that he reaps.
So everything produces and increases and multiplies after its own kind.
And this is a huge part of good pharma.
Learning to recognize the harvest by looking at the seed.
Being able to identify accurately the kind of choices,
the kind of words, the kind of attitude,
the kind of actions that produce
the kind of harvest that you want in in your life and in your future.
We don’t believe that the future is a matter of chance. We know it’s a matter of choice.
And the choice comes down to being able to look at a seed.
A good farmer can tell you what that seed is, what it looks like,
and he sticks. If somebody tried to fool him and put mango seeds in where he is
where he is planting for an apple orchard, the good farmer knows it. And he’s like, I don’t want that kind of seed. I want this kind of seed.
He uses discretion on the seed. Does that make sense?
So, we don’t believe that that the future happens to us. We believe that the future happens through us.
If you plant rice, you’re going to get rice. If you plant If you plant mangoes, you’re not going to get watermelon.
If you want good relationships in the future, you got to sew the seeds for good relationship today.
Am I talking to anybody right now? Am I helping you?
And I’ve heard many people say that they want friends at church. And and those same people come late, leave early, don’t serve on teams.
And it’s funny how that’s really cool for a while and then down the road somewhere they talk to a pastor or a
leader and here’s their story. I I want friends and I really don’t have friends
at Champions. I don’t really have friends here to I I I think the church is too big or you know whatever idea
they bought into. And then over and over again, our pastors, our leaders will tell you, I’m not I’m not just saying this over and over and over. I’m talking about tens of hundreds of times.
Those same people, we track what they did in their in their attendance and
their being a part. And those people were people that did not consistently do
their part to connect into the life of the church. Right?
It’s amazing the blind spots that we have and just expecting corn to grow in the field. Apples are going to be in the
field. Don’t know why I don’t have no apples. You didn’t plan apples.
The Bible says, for example, if a person is going to have friends, they must show themselves friendly.
Come on. This is what I’m talking about.
Not friendly once, persistently friendly.
Continually friendly. I guarantee you, if you put friendship out, you get friendship back. That’s right.
I promise you if you put smiles out, it may not be everybody, but you’ll get smiles back.
I promise you, if you put consideration out, you will get what? Consideration back. And anybody who complains or moans
or groans or they don’t know, they don’t know that person has bought into something other than the law of seowing
and reaping. If you buy into the law of sewing and reaping, like you will just keep on sewing. You’ll just keep on in that pattern. Yep. That person didn’t say hi. That person wasn’t friendly.
That person wasn’t this. That person wasn’t that. I’m just going to keep doing what I do cuz I know the promises of sewing and reaping. I know inevitably people are going to come into my life.
Doors are going to open up for me. Good things are going to happen in my life because I am sewing good seed.
Can you shout amen?
If you want a financial harvest in your life, first of all, tithe first. That’s right.
Just tithe first. Tithe is uh irrespective of persons.
I started tithing when I when I was getting allowance. That’s only Dad, it’s only $5.
Take your tithe. Separate it. Take it to church this week.
If it’s a $100, don’t say, “I don’t make enough to ti tithe.” I’m just giving you I’m giving you wisdom for the ages.
I’m talking about I’m talking about seeding your future.
A habit you start today is a habit that gets fixed in to the habits of your life.
And when you tithe on little, you can tithe on much. Jesus said, “He who is faithful in little will be faithful in
much.” So tithe first, but then there’s some other seeds that you can sew.
Keep looking for ways to add value on your job.
Rather than just moaning and groaning, look for ways to add value
right where you are. Yeah, I’m talking about seeding your future.
Go above and beyond what’s expected of you. Seed your future.
Now, like a lot of things right now, and you wouldn’t think this would be going against the grain of culture today cuz
it’s so practical. It’s so filled with truth. It’s like it’s almost like you can’t argue with it. But there’s a ton
of people that have bought into a mindset right now where they don’t they don’t want to work.
They don’t want to invest themselves.
They they they they’re trying they’re looking to avoid seed sowing.
In terms of considering their boss, the company they work for, putting yourself in their shoes. You
know the Bible says that workers who protect their employ who workers who protect their employers interest will be rewarded.
It’s true.
I think I put that verse down. You can see it on the screen. It’s it’s workers who tend a fig tree are allowed to eat the fruit and workers who protect their employer’s interests will be rewarded.
What does that mean? means go to work and consider and empathize with if this were my business, this is what I would
want from my employee and I’m going to give that to the employer.
You think like that and there’s a there’s very little of that right now.
I I don’t know that’s a fair statement.
How about just saying there’s a lot of the other right now?
Okay, there’s a lot of the other and this is how we seed our future
and I’m going to talk about it next weekend. I’m going to literally name seeds and one of them is attitude.
But the attitude you have toward your job, toward the people you work with, toward your boss, all of that. When you
get a good attitude, that’s sewing good seeds. when when you’re not all, you know, all worried about what they’re
doing or what they’re not doing right and you get committed to you doing right. That’s what we’re talking about.
The power of sewing seed and the way that it will impact and influence your
future for good or for bad. And a little side caveat here is if you start to think I’m off base and you need a little
bit of refreshing in your mind on some of this kind of stuff, I’ll just say young adults, go read the story of Joseph. Joseph went through all kinds of
mistreatment. And Joseph, there was injustice toward him in his life. He kept sewing good seed. He kept doing
everything he could right for Pharaoh that he was under. He kept on even in slavery, even in prison, sowing good
seed. He ended up being the Pharaoh. You don’t get there if you’re not sowing good seed in the process of a hard life.
You know, last weekend was a special weekend in our church. It was student takeover weekend.
Oh, wow. Thank you to all of our our church kids leaders, our youth leaders.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. It was an amazing weekend to observe and watch as our students
gathered. You know, they students gathered in the front. We prayed over them back to school prayers. They served all over our campuses and served in the
lobby. They parking lots. They they were just serving everywhere. older older students were serving in church kids
last week and we heard a 23 year old preacher bring a great word.
Hundreds of youth came back on Sunday night for one big night and just raised the roof and worshiped God and had
another great word. Now, my hope I’m reminding you of all of that. That was that was last weekend. I’m reminding you of all that if you did witness it.
If you if you didn’t, you’re hearing right now what it was like. My hope is that all of you who serve at Champion
Center or give at Champion Center see a weekend like that and you recognize
that as a church, we’re living in the harvest of yesterday’s seed.
I hope you see. I hope you connect the dots.
We’re going against the grain.
Young people don’t just automatically love church, love the house of God,
learn the Bible, put down roots in God’s people with God’s people. Young people don’t
automatically jump and leap and praise God and serve. It doesn’t just happen automatically. It happens because of
seeds and intentionality on our part as a church. And I want to just thank everybody who invests,
everybody who’s been sewing seeds. And we could go back years and years into the life of our church. We’re living in
a harvest today of seed sown yesterday.
Because a good harvest always starts with good seeds. And if you want a good harvest in your life tomorrow, you got to sew good seed today. Can you shout amen?

So, let me bring that back what happened last weekend back to maybe a personal space in your life and say to you, if
you want your family’s future to be in God’s house with God’s people, get planted now.
Go to church essentials now.
so that you can join a team and be connected into the life of the church.
I can tell you that there were young people all over at our locations whose parents don’t go to church, but I can
tell you there was no one in the youth in all the kids and hundreds of young people. There was no
one that someone had not individually invested in and pointed them in the direction of the house of God.
No one. None of them.
And there was none of them there that did not benefit from the seeds that were
sown by all of us in our church that put them in that position. Now,
o you can begin today is my point. We have families in our church right now where three to four generations are
planted in God’s house and they’re all coming.
Like we got we got young people whose parents and grandparents go to Champion Center and some of them have babies already or are on their way to having babies.
What a beautiful thing it is and a privilege of mine to watch generational
influence and power. Parents who set the course and parents who planted seeds for the future and stayed faithful in the
process. Even when there were clouds, even when it wasn’t easy, they kept on sewing good seeds. And now the grandkids
are living in and even some of them are sewing for
their future in the house of God. So the best time to sew your seed is now. Everybody shout now.
Now. Say it again. Shout now. Now. Say today. Today.
The Chinese proverb tells us the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. And the second best time is now.
Today. Somebody shout now. Now.
See, now may not be a perfect time, but it’s the best time.
I want to encourage you. Be intentional today to do what these scriptures tell you. Ecclesiastes 11. Get up in the morning and sew your seed.
And in an evening, don’t let your hand be idle. Yeah, but pastor Kevin, all the circumstances, the condition, if you knew my family, if you knew my kids, they are driving me crazy like
so your seed. So your seed, keep wiping their face, wiping their butt, whatever, and praying over them
and speaking future into them and declaring they are children of the Lord
in imperfect times, in all circumstances. It’s not about changing the circumstances you’re in right now.
It’s about seeding a better future.
I’m going to probably come back to this story because I don’t have time to flesh it out. But I want to end with it today and you’re going to get a really
overview helicopter view, but Genesis 26 is one of the coolest stories in all of the Bible along the lines of what I’m
speaking on you. It says in verse one, “Now there was a famine in the land.” Everybody say, “Bad times.” Verse two, the Lord appeared to Isaac
and said, “Don’t go to Egypt. Don’t leave this place. Live in the land where I tell you to live.” Everybody say, “Will of God.” Will of God.
Verse three, “Stay in this land for a while.” Everybody shout, “Stay.” Stay.
And he said, “I will be with you and I will what?” I will famine in the land. Stay. I’m with you.
I’ll bless you. Verse 12, Isaac planted crops in that land. That land of famine,
that land of hard times, that land of ground. And the same year he reap what?
Hundfold because the Lord blessed him.
Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow.
The man became rich. His wealth continued to grow until he became very wealthy. Verse 14. He had so many flocks and herd servants that the Philistines
his enemies envied him. He just kept on going. But I just want to go back to that year. What about that year? What about that year where there was famine?
What about that year when thing that season in his life where it would have been a whole lot easier to just say this
is no place for harvest. I can’t get a harvest here. I I lost my job. I can’t do that. D problem dominating his mind.
It would have been so easy for him to not even pray about what he should do, where he should go. And it would have been really easy to listen to all the
the farmers who were saying, “I’m saving my seed for when it rains. I’m saving my seed for another time. It’s a waste of time to put your ground your your your
seed in the ground right now.” Like the ground is hard. It is fow. And there ain’t nothing good going to come from it. It would have been an easy great
time. Are you hearing what I’m saying to you?
But he got up and he did what? He obeyed. Well, he he was in alignment with Ecclesiastes 11. And he did in seed
time. He swed his seed. And he did it with diligence. He did it out of obedience. He did it when he didn’t
understand what was going on. He did it when the weather wasn’t good. He did it when it wasn’t really a good time in everybody’s mind to do it. He swed his
seed. He held not his hand back. He didn’t hold back. He seated his future.
And the Lord blessed him because he was persistent. consistent unwavering in seeding his future. Can you give the Lord a great big hand?

See how good you started your word.
You said it. I believe it. See how good it was.
If you start it, you’re complete. Take you at your word.
Every head bowed, every eye closed around the locations. Today, I want to give you an opportunity.
Some of you today who are not in the place that you want to be with God.
And maybe you’re here today and you would you would just realize, Pastor Kevin, I’ve been wewarded. It’s my own fault. I’ve been distant. It’s my own fault. I have not been I’ve not been
where God wants me to be. I’ve not been doing what God wants me to do.
And I offer you an opportunity today to seed your future, beginning with your own salvation.
Beginning with your own seizing of an opportunity, to say and declare that as for me, my
house, it’s God first. We’re going to serve the Lord. And it all begins right now, right here. And I want to invite
you, a man alone, a young person, whoever you are, to boldly right now while I’m talking even just start raising your hand up in the air and and declaring, “God, this is it. This is my
time. I’m not perfect.” And that’s why I look to you today. Come on, just hands are going up all around the auditorium here and I’m believing elsewhere. Hands
are going up in every space, even online today. Hands are going up.
You can in the chat, you can just tell us that today’s my day, today’s my time. Good. Good. Yakamal, hands are going up.

Today I decide today I decide that I want to serve you.
