It Was Leah All Along
July 30, 2023
What if the greatest breakthrough in your life isn't waiting on more opportunities—but on how you steward the seeds God has already placed in your hands? In this powerful message, Dr. Manny Arango unpacks the story of Jacob, Rachel, and Leah to reveal a life-changing biblical truth: we are often attracted to what is impressive on the outside, while God is producing lasting fruit through things we tend to overlook. From Genesis 29 to the teachings of Jesus, Dr. Arango shows how God's Kingdom grows through faithful stewardship, not shortcuts. Discover how your words, tears, time, money, and even your life are all seeds that produce a harvest. Learn why God calls believers to prioritize fruitfulness over appearances, resist the temptation of the easy path, and trust Him with every area of life. If you're looking for biblical wisdom, spiritual growth, Christian leadership principles, discovering God's purpose, overcoming worldly distractions, or learning how to live a fruitful Christian life, this message will challenge and inspire you. God has already placed the raw material for greatness inside of you. The question is: What will you do with the seeds He's given you?
Talk-It-Out
Icebreaker
Have you ever realized later that something you didn’t want at first ended up becoming one of God’s greatest blessings in your life?
Discussion Questions
- What part of Jacob’s relationship with Rachel and Leah challenged your thinking the most?
- Dr. Arango contrasts attraction with fruitfulness. Why do you think we naturally pursue what looks good instead of what produces lasting fruit?
- Which of the five seeds—words, tears, time, money, or your own life—do you feel God is asking you to steward more intentionally??
- What “Rachel” (something attractive but ultimately unfruitful) might God be asking you to release so you can embrace a “Leah” (something less glamorous but deeply fruitful)?
- How does Jesus’ example of becoming the seed that died for us change the way you think about surrender and service?
- What is one practical step you can take this week to sow into God’s Kingdom rather than simply consume what the world offers?
This Week’s Action Step
Choose one of the five seeds this week:
Your words
Your tears (prayer)
Your time
Your finances
Your life through serving
Intentionally sow that seed every day this week, and journal what God begins to produce.

hey
come on how many worshipers in the building today I know you stood up for me but come on you stood up for Jesus come on you stood
up for the king of kings the Lord of lords come on at every location can we give God
some praise he woke you up this morning it’s funny you may not be able to tell
because I’m standing on this platform but I am rather short five five and a half
when you’re short the half matters okay so um five five and a half and I’ve always been rather short and I can remember being like five six
years old and I get up to this door that’s supposed to automatically open as you approach it but I didn’t have
enough substance communicate to the sensor that the door needed to open so you know I’m five six
years old and my little five-year-old ego is like already bruised you know so I’m taking a step back trying again taking a step back trying
again and finally I take a step back I try again and boom like magic the door pops open and you know I’m feeling
myself I’m like see I’m not that short I’m not that small and then I made this one mistake Champion Center
I made the mistake of looking behind me when I look behind me I realize that my
father who saw my struggle decided to add his presence to my circumstance all
I wonder is there anybody in the room today that the reason you’re praising is because you’ve looked behind you and you
realize that your degree did not open that door for you your good looks did not open that door for you it’s nothing in your
for you King of Kings and the Lord of lords decided to stand behind you in every
door you’ve walked through you’ve looked back and it is a listening praise from you God you are worthy of it all you’re
worthy for the doors you’ve opened you’re worthy for the ways you’ve made you’re worthy you’re worthy and you’re
worthy on this Sunday you’re worthy so God we thank you right now
humility we thank you for every circumstance you’ve turned around we thank you for every door of
opportunity you’ve allowed us to walk through and this one’s just for the mature Christians we even thank you for the
doors you’ve closed oh we thank you for the things we wanted
but you knew they weren’t good for us and God we thank you in advance for every door that we’re in front of right
now that we’re wondering is it going to open is the is the doctor gonna have good news is
is that opportunity going to pan out God we ask that the same way you stood behind us in the past
God would just stand behind us again would you open doors again God we thank you in advance
God I’ve got a sermon but you’ve got a message so God I ask that you would help me Preach Today that Minds would be open that heart
should be open that eyes would be open that ears would be open and that God at every single campus that in this room that God no one would
leave saying man that guest speaker really did a good job but that everyone would leave saying the Holy Spirit spoke to me in a unique and Powerful way
they’ll be promised to give your name all the glory and all the praise and all the honor be with us today in Jesus name
we pray come on can we say amen amen amen amen at every location we love you
come on you can high-five your neighbor you can grab a seat tell them they look good even if they don’t
so we speak those things that be not as though they were uh man pastor Kevin Pastor Sheila I love
you so much uh thank you for inviting me into your world uh the hospitality and the warmth and the love has been amazing
and um man uh I was I was excited about being with you guys for months and uh oh
I’m not leaving disappointed actually I feel like I’m leaving more full than than I than I came and so uh thank you
and thank you for all the behind the scenes moments just chilling at walking around Nordstrom with me and going to
restaurants and um man I feel like this relationship was God ordained and uh you’re gonna have a hard time getting rid of me so uh I love
you I love you so much Pastor Kevin um come on you love your pastor loves you love you
come on who’s ready for the word you ready for the word let’s go to Genesis chapter 29 Genesis chapter 29 uh
we’re gonna read a a passage in Genesis chapter 29 that may be familiar but then we’re going to go to Genesis chapter 49
um and and I’m going to throw a little curveball at us today okay Genesis chapter 29 I like to do fill in the blank style so if there’s a word that I
don’t say that is your opportunity to participate uh in the preaching of the word so if there’s a word that I don’t say that’s your turn to say the word
that I don’t say um here we go then Jacob said to Laban give me my wife my time is completed and
I want to make love to her not necessarily what I would say to my father-in-law but hey
we’re not judging you Jacob okay so Laban brought together all of the of the
and he gave a feast and this is an interesting detail but when evening came so I need you to remember Thomas Edison had not invented the light
bulb okay there’s no electricity when it’s dark it’s dark okay and Laban needs the the darkness of evening to fall
because he’s got a trick up his sleeve for Jacob but when evening came he took his daughter uh oh Leah and brought her to Jacob and Jacob
made love to her now for all of the Bible nerds in the room you know that he has not worked seven years for Leah but
he’s worked seven years for who Rachel uh let’s keep reading uh so he makes love to Talia and Laban gave his
servant zilpa to his daughter as her attendant when morning came there was Leah
that’s a rough morning you know that’s a it’s a rough morning come on don’t act like you’ve been saved
your whole life you’ve had a couple of these mornings don’t act like you’ve been a Christian forever you was at the club strobe lights was
hitting them just right we had a couple of drinks they look cute then the next morning you rolled over and went what did I get myself
into all the Pharisees who are dismissed all the real people who can remember your former life come on you can relate and there was Leah
so Jacob said to Laban what is this you have done to me I served you for
didn’t I why have you deceived me Laban replied it is not our custom here to give the younger daughter in marriage
before the older one bruh you should have told me that talking about Customs you could have told me that last week
you could have told me that last year give me a heads up finish this daughter’s Bridal week then
we will give you the younger one also somebody say Old Testament
don’t try that today okay some real Mormon energy going on right here okay well give me the younger one too in
return for another seven years of work and Jacob did so he finished the week with
and then Laban gave him his daughter to be his wife Laban gave his servant Bill had to his daughter Rachel as her
attendant now here’s where we’re going to camp out uh Jacob made love to Rachel also and his
love and his his love for
was in his love for Leah I I want to talk to us right here
because I think this fork in the road that Jacob is in is the same fork in the road that a lot of us are in see see let’s break down the characters let’s
talk about Rachel real quick okay Rachel is bad okay the Bible say the moment that Jacob see Rachel is love at first
sight he kisses the woman okay he breaks all kinds of boundaries he is just in love he is infatuated and he agrees to
work seven years for this woman she is beautiful hair done nails done everything did okay homegirl is a bad e
okay the only problem is that I would contend she’s also bad for Jacob Jacob is in love with this woman because
of what’s on the surface for her beauty but the issue is that she’s Barren she can’t have children now me and my wife we struggle with infertility for five
years so I’m very sensitive about how I talk about infertility or bareness I don’t think that the Bible is simply saying that she’s not able to have
children I actually think that her physical baroness is symptomatic of bareness of the soul that she’s bearing
in her spirit that there’s something about her that is beautiful on the outside but empty on the inside she is
attractive on the surface but every time Jacob makes a deposit there’s no there’s no return for the investment she’s not
bearing any fruit I wonder if there are any relationships in your life that are like that you’re the person who always has to reach out you’re the person who
always has to invest you’re the person who has to do all of the work it is not a 50 50 relationship and the relationship almost feels like you’re
putting coins in Pockets with holes in them Jesus would say casting your pearls to swine so Rachel she bad
she cute but every time they can’t get pregnant she emotionally manipulates Jacob and makes him feel guilty for why they can’t
get pregnant is she emotionally manipulative oh yeah but she cute she’s cute
but she’s a thief at one point they’re leaving laban’s house and she steals her father’s household Gods Not only is she a thief
she’s an idol worshiper because why are you stealing household Gods unless you meet the household Gods
unless you worship the household gods and and my thing is if you’re going to be an idol worshiper at least like have some character get your own
homegirl is an idol worshiper and a thief and a liar Laban comes out like where are my
household Gods at and this is where the Bible is very very entertaining anybody who thinks the Bible is born whoa I don’t know what book you’re reading but the Bible is very very entertaining so
the Bible says that that that Rachel gets the household Gods puts them on a camel sits on the camel and and when Laban comes out she got the nerve to say
I’m on my period you can’t check I’m gonna get at least five amens from
some brothers in the room any woman who’s lying about her period I just don’t know if that woman can be trusted okay
just don’t know I just I just don’t know that joke was for the same people
that was at the club the strobe lights is hitting them and then they woke up the next morning like what did I do yeah
same group laughed at both of those jokes so get this Rachel is attractive
she’s beautiful but she’s a liar she’s emotionally manipulative she’s a thief she’s an idol worshiper
she’s empty on the inside she’s been a bit unfruitful but she cute
now let’s look at the next sister Leah now you know you not you when the Bible
say you’re not cute so a whole nother level of not you
you know like imagine you know me and pastor Kevin were given some guy relational advice you know after service and he’s like I really love this girl oh
my gosh I really want to be with her and you know so this is a thing that a lot of black people say you know black people are kind of like oh if you like it I love it
which is black people’s way of saying I hate it don’t talk to me about this no more so you know now everybody knows okay so you know imagine me and pastor Kevin and giving somebody some advice
and you know this guy’s like oh my God I really like her and me and pastor Kevin are like you know really are you attracted to her is she cute we don’t
know that’s one level of not cute you know we’re just subjective humans like you know what I have to say doesn’t matter it’s a whole other thing
altogether for Moses to be right in Genesis for the Holy Ghost to be like
remember to tell them Leah was busted I’m like like it’s a whole nother level of not
cute no subjectivity there this just the Holy Ghost said it you know what I mean that’s just wow
yeah whole another level of knock you like you didn’t know if Leah was looking at you or your neighbor you know what I’m saying
like it’s like me
but every seed that Jacob Souls comes back 30 16 100 fold unattractive but fruitful
unattractive but ends up giving Jacob seven children unattractive but ends up giving birth to
one boy named Judah which is going to go on to be the ancestor of Jesus I want to preach this like I feel it real quick because there’s a lot of us who were mad
at the labens in our life that have deceived us but if it had not been for Laban Jacob would have been stuck with what he wanted instead of the thing that
he needed and Revelation says that Jesus is the lion of the tribe of Judah baby maybe just maybe God has sent a Laban
into your life to make you love the thing that you need instead of being obsessed with the thing that you want
and I can’t use all of my energy to be bitter and angry and upset with the lab and that has deceived me I have to
realize that there is a God that is playing chess behind the scenes that there is a God that knows that Rachel is not what I need and that the lineage
that is going to produce the Messiah has to come through Leah Leah not attractive but fruitful and I
have learned in my Christian Journey that all of the things that bring fruit are always unattractive prayer not attractive but it’s fruitful tithing not
attractive but it’s fruitful accountability not attractive but it’s fruitful confrontation not attractive but it’s fruitful hard conversations not
attractive but it’s fruitful come on diversity sometimes not attractive but very very fruitful oh I’ve come to
realize that if I stay in immaturity I will always be attracted to the Rachel’s
and Jacob’s issue oh I’m about to step on some toes Jacob’s issue is not that he’s drawn to
Rachel because of lust he’s drawn to Rachel because of laziness
she looks like less work you know the biggest way that the enemy can get you to take a shortcut is he
does make it look cuter then the path that is going to lead to fruitfulness
in your life oh I’ve gotta somehow make the decision
that although my flesh is attracted to the Rachel’s in my life that I can’t be deceived by Fool’s Gold
I can’t be deceived by the path of least resistance I can’t be deceived by what looks easier I can’t be deceived by the
shortcut actually the things in life that look ugliest oh they produce fruit in US
it’s funny because I’m Leah oh come on I’m Leah I’m Leah so are you
when God found me there was nothing beautiful nothing attractive about me when God found me I was all kinds of
confused when God found me I was prideful and arrogant when God found me my sin had turned me into an ugly
individual but God didn’t look over me God didn’t pass me over God said if I get the seed of my word in him oh I’ll
change his entire mind I’ll change his life from the inside out God rolled up his sleeves and got dirty putting his
hands on me oh it costs him something and if you stay immature you’ll never actually be
attracted to Jesus because Isaiah tells us that there’s nothing attractive about him that actually if you just get into this
thing called Christianity because of all of the benefits you’re just a spiritual gold digger
that there are going to be moments of difficulty trial is going to be ugly seasons
and that ugly stuff produces fruit inside of us and so if we’re going to move
if we’re going to move from people that are drawn towards Rachel and become people who can see the best
in Leah that we are going to have to become good stewards over the seeds in our life everybody say seeds
say seeds every single person has the seeds that they need to cultivate and create the life that God wants you to
have every single person your life is full of seeds your life is full of potential your life is full of opportunity all around you and and
victim mentality wants to tell you that no I’m jealous of that person who has fruit in their life and all the while
every time you’re comparing your life to somebody else’s life you’re comparing your life to their fruit and you are abandoning your seeds by the side of the
road sticking your seeds in your pocket and not doing anything with your seeds but you’re jealous of the fruit that
somebody else has and if there’s one thing I can help us do today is to begin to Steward the seeds that we have
there are five seeds that every single person has actually before we go to those five scenes I want to go to Genesis chapter 49 because I want to
give us some hope because Jacob begins to change his mind this is a very very obscure moment in at the end of the book of Genesis
um you’ve probably read this and glanced over it and I want to help you to to see the details because I am in my final
year of my doctoral program right now June 8 2024 I will be Dr Manny orango so
you better get all these nerdy details okay let’s go Genesis chapter 49 um uh and Jacob gave his boys his sons
these instructions I’m about to be gathered to my people bury me so these are burial instructions okay bury me with my father’s in the cave in the
field of Ephraim the hittite in the cave in the field of Mac palate near mamrei and Kanan I just crushed all them Bible words anyway which Abraham thought along
with the field as a burial place from Efron the hittite and here’s where we’re gonna just camp out real quick there Abraham and his wife
were buried there Isaac and his wife were buried and there
what did I do I buried Leah he’s telling his sons you better not put me in a cave with Rachel
because when Rachel dies she gets buried in an unmarked tomb in the middle of nowhere because she was cute
but toxic super shallow cute but unfruitful
I think that by the end of Jacob’s life he finally realizes it was Leah all along Leah’s the best thing that actually ever
happened to me and in his older age he realizes what he couldn’t see in his younger years
that life and maturity can teach you that it is actually wise to prioritize fruitfulness over attraction
there are five seeds that I need you to Steward here we go come on let’s do this I got 13 minutes and I’m a black preacher so we gonna do this thing let’s
go help me Holy Ghost let’s do this thing come on five seeds everyone has number one are you ready your words
your words your words every single person talks every single day everyone has words me and my wife we
walk through infertility for five years and I can tell you as God is my witness and judge we never said we’re infertile
why would I make a bad situation worse with the words that I choose to confess about my life
your words are seeds and you are made in the image of God God did not look at the darkness and say oh and me it’s dark
oh and me because it’s God you’ll get it tomorrow okay God didn’t go oh it’s dark
because if he had said that it would have gotten darker he said let there be light I hope that being in this church has
taught you something that we don’t look at cancer and say oh look at the Cancer no no we look at cancer and we say Let There be healing Let There Be Miracles
we don’t look at poverty and say oh that I guess I’m poor I would never confess I’m poor over my life I have the abundance Supply that God has for me
there’s an open Heaven over me and if every word I speak is a seed then that means the words other people speak are
hitting the soil of my life I cannot just allow unauthorized seed
Sowers to speak over my life we can sow Faith seed for an hour on a
Sunday but if you let your church hurt Uncle who don’t believe in tithing talk to you on Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday and Thursday and Friday then
guess what you have just allowed an unauthorized seed sower to now overtake the seed that was sown on a Sunday at
some point you’re gonna have to put a gate and a fence up around the soil of your soul and say I don’t just talk to anybody because there’s no such thing as
just talking I had to tell my teenagers this I was a youth house for 10 years and I would look at them and say are you dating this individual you know I was youth I had to
embarrass them you know is this your boy you know if they came to youth group and they kind of was flirty be like is this your boyfriend like no Pastor Manny
this is not my boyfriend we just talking and I would always look at them and say there’s no such thing
as just talking what’s a creative way I could say this at Champion Center Church how can I say this how can I say okay here we go
The Serpent and eve were just talking he’s talking
and Adam and Eve allowed an unauthorized seed sower to so doubt and fear
who do you listen to your spouse is an authorized seed soul in your life
you can’t be all that surprised when you let unchecked compliments from someone who’s not your spouse uh oh
you let that secretary keep complimenting you and now all of a sudden the fruit of Attraction has grown because the seeds
of compliments were sown all the wisest thing you could do I’d rather hurt your feelings no I know I’m losing weight you can now stop
complimenting me which means the flip side is true husband wife know this
your job is to be the dominant seed soul in that person’s life that’s your privilege that’s your opportunity
here we go let’s keep moving number two second seed everyone has second seed that every single person has tears
tears listen to Psalm 126 Psalm 126 those who those who
with what will reap with songs of joy those who go out weeping carrying seed
to sow will return with songs of Joy carrying sheaves with them the second seed everybody has are what your tears
it’s funny I always had a young adult conference and you know I was just teaching on basic Christian stuff nothing complicated nothing controversial just basic stuff like
don’t date heathens just Elementary stuff
don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers real basic stuff nothing mind-blowing just like hey don’t date
heathens but they kind of say no just no compromising just don’t date heathens you know so this girl comes up at the end to the altar you’re like
she’s like yelling over the music okay this girl’s like
she’s crying and talking he’s at the altar
confessing that she can’t do what you can’t really also to do from the stage I would stop
you double sewing you’re sowing tears and words
because culture has taught you that if you cry about it you’ll get over it but the Bible says if you cry about it you’re sowing into it
and that the tears that you sow causes roots to grow around your legs and you can’t break up with that dude that you’ve been trying to break up with now
for eight years because you keep crying about it and crying about it and crying about it and you don’t know why you can’t get over it and all the tears
never helps you to get over it because tears are seed here’s another cultural lie men don’t
cry well if that’s true then men don’t sow was the last time you cried over your family because last time you cried over your
city was last time you cried over your unsaved loved ones who will be separated from God for eternity unless you give
them a touch card for at the movies unless you get them in the room
and they may be intimidated by a sermon but they’re not intimidated by popcorn in some movies so let’s pack the house
because if he’s a lord of my life he’s also Lord of my feelings and I don’t care if I feel uncomfortable inviting
somebody to church I will walk right over my feelings and obey the one that is the Lord Of My Life why because I
remember that somebody brought me to church somebody overcame Their Fear and invited me
I’m gonna be a bringer tears tears this is an interesting passage of scripture where God says to
the prophet Samuel how long will you mourn over Saul since I have rejected him as king
I don’t get to mourn over the stuff that God has rejected in my life get your tears under control
and begin to ask this question am I crying over something that matters to me or am I crying over something that
matters to God do my emotions just belong to me or if I let God be the Lord of my
emotions so that I can pray Kingdom prayers so that I can have a Kingdom Agenda so I can have a kingdom Focus
number three the third seed everyone has time time
you and Beyonce both have 24 hours in a day nobody gets any extra time
you got time here’s four laws of sowing and reaping I want to give them to you really fast really easy actually you always reap
what you sow number two you reap where you sow
so I can’t sew on tick tock and think I’m going to reap memorizing Bible verses
I’m not going to sew on Instagram Tick Tock Hulu Plus Netflix
YouTube premium and then be shocked when the enemy attacks me and there’s no Bible
no scripture no truth no faith no hope no resilience
no no spiritual maturity well your act guess what’s guess what you deposited you deposited Escape
entertainment you binge watch three seasons of a show but then you’re telling older
mature Christians that you don’t have time to read the word is it that you don’t have time or is it that you’re sowing the seeds of
time in fields that are not producing a harvest for you time number one you always reap what you sow
you reap where you sow which means gentlemen you can’t sew all your time at your job
and be shocked when your family and your kids and your wife are not the
people that you want them to be oh here we go I’m going to preach this thing because the Bible never says that the
Garden of Eden or the creation is perfect it says that it’s good
why would God make it good when God has the ability to make it perfect he makes it good because if he had made it perfect he would have made Adam and Eve lazy
he makes it good so what does God do he gives you a good spouse and it’s your job to cultivate the soil of your spouse and turn that good spouse into a great
spouse he gives you good kids and it’s your job to cultivate the soil of your children and turn good children into great children he gives you good
employees entrepreneur and he it’s your job to turn those good employees into great employees he gives you good and
it’s your job to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty and start sowing and start getting things together and rip up the ground he gives you good
and then it’s your job to co-labor with him to turn that which is good into that which is great he sends Leah into your
life and it’s your job to take Leah and make Leah into everything that God has her to be that’s your job he doesn’t
give you perfect maybe the reason you’ve been disappointed is because you expect perfection
you expect Rachel I need it to look right I want a finished product God doesn’t give anything to Adam as a
finished product in the garden he gives him the wrong ingredients to create the life that he needs here we go
okay uh then you reap after you sow there’s always time between when you reap and when you sow
when you sow them when you reap and then number four you always reap more than you sow so come on number one you reap what you
sow number two you reap what you sow number three you reap after you sow number four you reap more than you sow
come on let’s keep going time where do you sow your time number four you ready for number four
money is a seed money is a seed I want to read this passive scripture to you Isaiah chapter
55 verse 10 as the rain and the snow come down from and do not return to it without watering
the Earth and making it bud and flourish so that it yields seed from who
and bread for who that means God has two systems for providing for people
there are some people on the seed plan and some people on the bread plan uh oh
if you eat everything that God gives you then he puts you on the bread plan because he gives bread to who eaters he
does not give bread to Sowers and he does not give seed to eaters
so if my stomach dictates how I sew then God says oh you’re an eater
there you go here’s some bread I call this God’s welfare system he’s like here’s a bread I’ll give you
bread every day but if you could be faithful with seed then what happens with seed I sow seed I
get wheat I manufacture that wheat I process that wheat and finally I will get bread I will eventually get bread if
I can be faithful with seed but so many of us we cannot be patient enough until our appetite no
you this is not bread this is seed the question is Never Should I tithe that’s not even a question you didn’t
have to pray about it 10 belongs to God here’s what you should pray about God
everything else everything above the 10 the 90 is it bread or is it seed
I’m gonna give God the tenth but God if there’s seed in this I want to sow it I don’t want to eat it
I’ll tell you how I got my dad to tithe this is funny some of y’all may be able to relate some of you maybe not but it’ll be fun
my dad was a drug addict my dad took me to a crack house for the first time when I was five years old uh and so my dad when I was a teenager started like
coming to church and uh so my dad came to church one Sunday and uh you know he had been coming to church for maybe a couple of months I was 15 years old at
the time and I started preaching when I was 12. so at this point I kind of had a sharp tongue already you know and so my dad there’s a large church and my dad
left the sanctuary after the service was dismissed and he went around the back to the parking lot and he saw that our pastor had a Mercedes-Benz
so my dad with an attitude this is why I don’t give that’s why I don’t tie I ain’t paying
for no other man to have a Mercedes this is the problem with church just full of preachers that want to take your
money I don’t know maybe that’s just my dad I got a hunch there’s some other people
like that you know maybe not at this church but you know I want you guys to have empathy for all of the people out there who may think this way
I’m 15 years old here’s what I said to my dad I said hey Dad uh the drug dealer in our neighborhood
has a Mercedes that you paid for actually you’ve purchased lots of
Mercedes you go to the club every weekend the club owner has a Mercedes that you paid for debt you buy so much
crack if he only had you as a client he’d still have a Mercedes what are you talking about how dare you be generous
in the world but then when you come into the kingdom now all of a sudden you’ve become a mathematician how dare you the
world has gotten all of your money and all of your resources and now all of a sudden you’ve come into the kingdom and
you are Scrooge how wow how is it that as long as you were sowing into
your flesh you did it freely you did it generously but now that you’ve come into the kingdom and we’re asking you to sow
into the spirit and sow into things that are not as easy to see as long as you were sowing into instant gratification
you would sow all of your money you would blow your whole check in a weekend if you were the kind of person who in the world
you were like next round on me then here’s my advice keep that same energy your bourbon should be next Outreach on
me next smoke gap on me if you were generous in the flesh
why be stingy in the spirit of course we tied of course we give of
course we go above and beyond my dad started tithing that day
my dad was like you’re right you’re right last one John chapter 12 you can stay
standing if you want John chapter 12 very truly I tell you unless a kernel of wheat falls to the
ground and dies it remains only a Single Seed but if it
produces many seeds anyone who loves their life will lose it while anyone who
hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life why are there millions of Christians all over the
globe gathered today with the fruit of the spirit in their life with the fruit of peace and the fruit of joy and the fruit of Hope and the fruit of goodness
we’re in the faithfulness why can Christians today eat of the tree of life it’s because Jesus did not hoard his
life or keep his life to himself but he decided I’m gonna die I’ll sow my life here so that everybody else can reap a
harvest in their life the reason that you can find forgiveness and hope and peace and joy is because Jesus saw
himself as a seed but himself into the soil of the Tomb and three days later
Resurrection was possible can I tell you what the last seed is
it’s you is that you would die to yourself the gospel is not just that Jesus died
for me here’s the gospel that Jesus died for me therefore I’ll die for him I’ll die to my selfishness I’ll die to my
pride I’ll die to me I’ll die to my flesh I’ll die to my desires I’ll die to my selfish Ambitions I’ll die to me and
I’ll sow my life into the local soil of a church I’ll sow my life into the seed into the soil of a community I’ll show
me
your marriage doesn’t just need more time or more money your wife needs you to die
the reason that my son will never deal with all of the strongholds and the addictions that I dealt with as a kid it’s not just because I got saved
because I died and when I died the generational curse that had been holding my family for
Generations that curse died when I decided to die to me there’s something
in you that’s Gotta Die and today I’m inviting you to say my life is a seed and I trust the soil of this church and
I’m gonna sell myself of course I’m gonna die I’m gonna volunteer cause I’ve died to myself I’ll invite people because I’ve died to myself of course
I’ll give financially I’ve died I’ve died I’ve died of me I didn’t just choose this charge because
the comfortable seats and the lighting’s cool and there’s there’s cool worship that’s entertaining no one chose this church because this is
where God wants me to sow myself that’s why I’m here I’m not here to be a consumer I’m here to be a contributor
it’s easy to sew in the racial you know what my dad had been doing for years sewing into Rachel
sewing in his clothes in his outfit and his ego and his pride and his flesh and his addictions in his habit just sowing
and sowing and sewing and sewing and it’s attractive but it doesn’t bring life if you’re in the room today you’re not a
Christian maybe somebody invited you you’re like you know what Pastor Manny I can identify with your father
just been sowing into the flesh man it just keeps leaving me empty
castlemania you’re talking to me I actually I’m Rachel I’m so superficial
it just feels like nothing on the inside of me is growing I feel Barren on the inside I feel empty I’m preaching to you
today I want you to make a decision to make Jesus Christ the lord of your life to surrender your life to him
so that you can finally be a fruitful person you haven’t even met yourself unless you’ve become a Christian
you don’t know you Life starts when you decide to die to yourself with all heads about in all eyes closed I’ve got a question today
are you a Believer are you a Christian would you spend eternity with God if if God forbid if something tragic were to
happen to you would you would you spend eternity with God or separated from God I want to give you an invitation
Jesus didn’t just die for you he died as you he died in your place
God punished him for the sins that we have committed and then Jesus says okay I’ve died for
you now I want you to make a decision can you die for me you can die to yourself die your flesh died of your pride if that’s you with all heads about
all eyes closed and you’re saying you know what Pastor Manny I want to give my life to this God that’s given his life for me can you just throw your hands up
just raise your hand right where you are I see your hand just raise your I see your hand just raise your hand wave at me if you can I see your hand all the
way in the back I see your hand I see your hand come on I’m looking around I see your hand leave it up long enough for me to see it I see your hand I see
your hand see your hand hands going up all over the room I see your hand can we pray this prayer together as a family whether you’re a Christian or whether
you’re praying it for the very first time I want you to pray this prayer at whatever campus you’re at if you’re at a campus I can’t see your hand but there’s
a pastor there who can see your hand I want you to lift your hand at whatever campus you’re at if you’re in this room I can see you come on all together can
we repeat after me say Jesus thank you for loving me thank you for dying
in my place I give you my life I Surrender
I confess with my mouth and I believe in my heart that Jesus
you are Lord I am a new creation
in Christ and I declare that the old is gone in the newest here
if that’s your first time praying that

Why We Honor America
In a time filled with negativity and discouragement, we choose to honor America, not because she is perfect, but because she is precious. 🇺🇸 We’re grateful to live in a nation of freedom, opportunity, and faith, and we honor those who have sacrificed so much to protect it. Everything is better with honor—our homes, our communities, and our churches—and when we honor what we have, God can entrust us with more. We don’t worship America—we worship God—but because of that, we choose gratitude, pray for our nation, and bring hope to our generation.
