Pray It Forward Part 1

January 4, 2026

In this powerful New Year message titled “Pray It Forward,” Pastor Kevin challenges the church to step into 2026 with faith, confidence, and intentional prayer—believing that God is already working ahead of us. Rooted in Deuteronomy 31:8, this message reminds believers that the Lord goes before us, prepares the way, and never fails or forsakes His people. As the church celebrates 40 years of ministry and enters a season of prayer and fasting, the message addresses common struggles like anticipatory anxiety, fear of the future, and uncertainty about what lies ahead. Pastor Kevin explains that prayer doesn’t inform God—it aligns us with Him. Through prayer, God prepares what we cannot yet see, levels mountains, opens doors, and provides strength to climb challenges that aren’t meant to disappear. Sharing a personal testimony, Pastor Kevin illustrates how God’s guidance, timing, and peace often work behind the scenes long before answers arrive. The message encourages believers not to pray from fear, but from faith—trusting the Holy Spirit to guide, protect, and equip them for every season. As the church launches into 21 Days of Prayer, viewers are invited to seek God first, pray with confidence, and move forward knowing that heaven is already at work on their behalf. This message is a call to reset spiritually, trust deeply, and pray boldly into the future God has prepared.

Talk-It-Out

Icebreaker

When you think about the future, what emotions come up most—excitement, fear, hope, or uncertainty?

Discussion Questions
  • What does it mean to you that “God goes before you”? How does that change the way you view the future?
  • Pastor Kevin talked about anticipatory anxiety. Where do you see this show up in your life?
  • How does prayer help align us with God rather than simply asking Him to fix things?
  • Have you ever seen God prepare something for you before you realized you needed it?
This Week’s Action Step

Commit to participating in a season of intentional prayer.
Identify one area where fear has limited your faith and begin praying with confidence instead.

changed. I’m so excited for what’s happening here at our church. I’m so excited. This reminds me, I grew
up in the House of Champion Center and my best friends to this day. I met in
classrooms like these. So, I am so excited for kids to grow up in the house
of God, families to make that decision together, and they get to grow in relationship with Jesus and with others.
It is going to be the best thing. I just I’m so excited. Incredible place for the kids, but then
we also got the auditorium. Let’s go check out the auditorium. Let’s go.
Come on. We’re entering the auditorium. Isn’t this incredible? This is amazing.

incredible. Imagine lives being transformed and changed here. first time
guests walking in hearing worship that’s just going to speak to their heart and their soul. Hear a message that at the
end is going to make them raise their hand and give their lives to Jesus that will impact their life, their family,
their children, this community. This is going to be so incredible. We’re almost here, Ashley.
Almost here. And Pastor Jesse, I wish everybody could be able to feel what we’re feeling right now. The presence of
God is in every part of this building. As soon as we drove on the property, some excitement, anticipation build up,
but just knowing that the kingdom is advancing in Yakama, we could not be
more excited. But hey, the best thing I can think about is we’re going to just thank God all day. Let’s praise God.
Let’s worship God. Let’s join our worship team as we lift up the name of Jesus.
[Music] Oh yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Oh yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Praise the Lord.
Man, the media team, the worship team, they got together and what a They’re the
best. I think this was the best watch party ever. Praised.
Yeah. Hello everybody. And you have made it through Christmas. Hopefully it was
an amazing time, amazing holiday, lots of good food.
We hope. If you ate too much and you know, you’re feeling kind of condemning or condemnation like guess what? You can
make a New Year’s commitment right now. A New Year’s like we’re going to get going in a better direction. But
hopefully uh you’re doing well today. Glad you’re a part of what we’re doing here with our watch party. This is the
only Sunday of the year where we’re not gathered in our physical locations. And
maybe you know somebody you could call right now. Text right now. Tell them we’re on. Tell them, “Hey, come to church with me.” Yes. Tell some of your
family. It’s not too late. Join in because after this is over and Sheil and I talk a few minutes. We’re going to go
into some more worship. Yeah. Uh today. So, uh it’s not too late. Invite somebody to come along.
And if they can’t watch right now, just tell them it’s going to come on again. That’s right. Yes, that’s right. It’s
going to be a great time. It’ll be there for you on demand. Right. On demand. Yes.
All right. We’re going to talk about God’s goodness in a way that we’ve been we’ve been using this phrase uh the last
few months especially. And we’ve been saying that God was faithful then, God
is faithful now, and God is faithful forever. And that’s what we want to talk about
today. Sheila, read the Psalms. Psalms 105 10 verse5 just simply says for the
Lord is good and his love endures forever. His faithfulness continues
through all generations continues like never stops through all generations. And
so we just want to give you a opportunity to remember God’s faithfulness in your past. Like remember
that that he’s been with you. Think about the times when his presence was
real in your life. His protection. As you think back, God was there. He was
providing for you. He was opening doors for you. He was bringing people into your life. And as you look back, you
just know that it wasn’t a coincidence. It wasn’t a happen stance. It was divine intervention at work to put you in the
right place at the right time with the right people. He has been faithful.
Amen. And you know the things that we go through, we need to remember this line. Let the past fuel your faith.
That’s good. So whatever you’ve gone through in the past, it’s going to be that fuel that
gets you into the future. Whatever comes your way, you’re going to have that
faith built in you because you already went through something before. That’s exactly what David did in in the story
where he was going to face Goliath. He, you know, nobody wanted to to fight
Goliath. And King Saul was like, “I don’t know, son, if you really can do this. And are you sure?” And what David
did is he remembered, Yeah. how God had helped him to defeat the
lion and the bear. And you know, he said, “Saul, God was with me when the
the lion attacked me. He was with me when I was guarding the sheep.” And that
memory that he had, he drew from that. He he he it fueled his faith and gave
him courage for the next battle. And that’s what God wants you to do today.
He wants you to look back and remember. and he spoke it out in faith. So that’s
what you’re going to have to do is say, “God, you did it once. You’re gonna do it again.” And that’s what David did.
And there’s healing in people’s bodies today that you know that God has done it before. He’s going to do it again.
Whatever you need. And you’re going to start just believing and professing that
God is here to do that in 2026. Amen. So be it. Amen. So that’s the first thing we want
to We want to think about where God has been with us in the past. Yes. And and also remember that the faithful
God who was with you then do it again. He is also with you in this season y
that you’re in right now. I don’t know what that season is and we may not know
what your challenges are, but the past few years or even the past
few months may have a degree of difficulty in them like some unresolved
issues, some burdens that you’re bearing, feelings of uncertainty, unanswered
questions in your life. And I want to remind you that he is working in all
things. He’s working together. Those things are working for your good. He’s
working all things together for your good is what Romans 8:28 says. And and
so the God of yesterday, he is the God of today. He is faithful right now.
Maybe you haven’t seen the breakthrough yet. Maybe you haven’t seen the prayer answered yet. Don’t give up. Don’t get
discouraged. God is with you right now. Yesterday, today, and for
ever. Amen. You know, we’ve been singing that song, uh, everything I need.
Everything I need, the Lord will provide. And we’ve seen that happen
right here in our church where God is providing for the needs here with our
legacy offering. Wow. It’s been a miracle. What a miracle offering. Yes. This year
has been and many sacrifice for thank God for all of you who are giving together making sacrifi God sees your
giving and God will reward and is rewarding our giving. Yes. And and let me just celebrate a little
bit of what you know. So so that offering we’re talking about we’ve had great past offerings as well but we’re
still here. Like we’re still giving we’re still going. We’re still growing. We’re still dreaming as a church. We’re still we’re
still believing that God is with with us right now. This is the year of the Lord’s favor. This is the year of the
Lord’s blessing on us. And let me just another example of of God being with us
today is we’re opening a brand new building in Yakimal West Valley. A brand
new Champion Center is coming to you in Yakamal and our
whole church family is excited about it. Consider this your invite right now
in the month of March. If you just pay attention, we don’t know exactly the
weekend yet, but we’re going to be announcing it. We’re going to have grand opening
weekend. We might have soft launch. Don’t get confused. We’re going to hopefully be in
there. Maybe a couple weeks in February or whatever. But we’re going to plan a time in March, like a Friday night, I think
is probably what it’s going to be, where all of those, you know, on the west side
can go to the east side and we as many as can go, you know, would head over
there, see the new building. It’s going to be a fun fun time for all of those that are and you know I
just want to thank all of you while I’m saying this that have worked so hard there in Yakamal at our our church family in
Yakamal. You guys have have been stepping up and you’re experiencing like the faithfulness of God right now.
You’re seeing dreams come true right now. the things you are giving to those new classrooms for your children, the
impact that it will have on your family, in your life in the future. But you’re
working hard. Thank you for being faithful now. Not only is God faithful now, you’re being faithful.
And it’s like moving a house. They’re moving a church. Just think of all that hard work. And
many of you might even say, “Hey, how can I be a part of it? Go on over there. Help them.” They’re moving house over
there because God has been so faithful. And even in this time of when there’s been a lot of financial issues, yeah,
you have been so faithful and I believe that God is going to bless you in 2026
because of your faithful sacrificial giving. And I’m excited about what
it would take a whole list to name all of you. All of them. Yeah. Um who have been faithful, who have
helped out with this project. And so, not only has God been faithful, but God’s been faithful through you. God
bless you. everyone who has helped out, who has given, because we’re going to we’re funding a we have a vision gap
between, you know, the the uh cost of the building and actually the amount
that we have had on hand. So, this year’s legacy offering is a part of that
that gap, that vision gap and and us paying for some of that Yeah.
some of that project that we’re doing. We’re getting as close to being paid off as we can. We want to get there. And so
anyway, God’s faithful now. The Psalmist said, “I’ve never seen the righteous forsaken.” Yes.
And that’s true for us today. God, that’s what I wanted to say. I’ve never seen the righteous forsaken. God’s with us.
In the 40 years that we’ve been here, I’ve never seen That’s so true. I love that. And you know, the book of
Revelations, you know, a lot of people say, you know, it’s a lot of scary things there.
Yeah. But there’s some promises there in the book of Revelation. Amen. It’s not a
confusing book. It’s not a scaring book, scary book, but there’s some promises. Amen. That we as believers can hold on to.
We’re going to put them on the screen right now, some of them, and you can look at them. We won’t go through the whole list, but what we’re doing with
this is that we’re saying he was faithful then, he’s faithful now. Look around you. All the things that are
happening in our life of our church, in your own life personally. Yes. and and he’s faithful now, but he
will be faithful forever. He will be faithful forever. In Revelation, it says
God will make all things new. Yes. It says what God started, he will finish. Yep.
Ain’t that beautiful? God will wipe every tear from your eye, our eyes.
God’s kingdom will never end. God’s people will dwell with him forever.
Yes. So beautiful to just know faithful. Then say it with us. Faithful then, faithful
now, faithful forever. Yes. And you know what? Let’s think about the
future for just a moment as we close this up. We all have a future.
We all have our lived life up until now and then we have the unlived life ahead
of us. There’s things that you don’t know exactly what’s going to happen, but it’s
so good to know that God knows and that God is with us as we move into the
future. Yes. And I want to give you something today. We want to give you we’re going to we’re going to finish with prayer today. And
not just with prayer, but when it comes to the future, we’re going into a brand new year. 2026 is full of new things.
And we we’re looking to God like God is with us. God is for us. We’re expecting
great things in 2026. But how about we pause long
enough today and talk about how to engage the future from where you are
right now? Yes. How do you engage the unlived life, the things that have not yet happened? What
do we do? Do we do we shrink back? Do we get worried? Do we live in fear? or do we engage the will of God?
And and we’re saying today, let’s engage the will of God. You say, “How do you do that?” By speaking to the future in the
name of the Lord, by the word of God. Prophesy about the future.
Yes. Prophesy and speak to it with faith. Yes. And let’s believe God today.
Yeah. Talk to yourself when you prophesy. Begin to claim what you’ve been praying for. what you’ve been
believing for. And then the people that are in the room there with you, uh, turn and begin to
prophesy to them. And that simply means that you’re going to speak. God is going to do something for you in 2026. God is
going to give you what you’ve been believing for. Just begin to speak it out of your mouth to build their faith.
And you’re going to see in 2026 when you confess with your mouth that God is
going to come through. I know there’s been things that we have been believing God for. And I’m not letting go of it. I
am speaking it. I am declaring it. And I am saying that God is coming through.
I’m not letting go of his shirt tail. You ever seen a little kid just pull on its mama shirt tail like, “Mama, you
promised me. You promised me that ice cream cone.” Well, I’m doing that to God this year, saying, “God, in 2026, you
promised.” Amen. And I’m prophesying that it’s coming to pass.
Just raise your hands where you are just a little bit like just put them up in the air and let’s just speak life right
now. God, we speak life over our family. Sheila and I speak life over
every family today that’s a part of this service and watching us right now. We
speak we speak life over the family and the home. Go ahead, speak over your
marriage right now in the name of Jesus. In the name of Jesus, you are faithful forever. God, you are faithful forever.
You’re faithful to keep us, to strengthen us, to heal us. You’re faithful, God. You’re
going to be faithful in our business. You’re going to be faithful in in all that we put our hands to do this year,
the choices we’re making. We declare the goodness of God over our church today.
Good things are coming in our church. Good things are coming in our nation. We
believe that you are with us, God. We forecast your favor over our life today.
We forecast the blessing and the goodness of God, faithful forever. We’re
not going to be afraid. We’re not going to fear, yes, bad reports. We’re not going to be
afraid of what we’re going to face because we know, God, that you are with us in the darkest valley, in the most
difficult circumstance. You will never leave us. You will never forsake us. Our
family is blessed. Our children are blessed in the name of Jesus. We belong
to you. You are with us. We are triumphant in all things through Christ
Jesus in Jesus name. Amen.
God bless you. Let’s continue to worship God today. Happy new year everybody.

May the words of that song continue to be what we are all about. Building his church and fighting for families. It’s
been an incredible 2025. But imagine what’s up and coming in 2026. You saw us
in our future home in Yakama. What is God going to do? God’s going to do exceedingly abundantly more than we
could ever ask, think, or imagine. But even in 2026, 40 years of ministry that
we’ve had here in the Pacific Northwest, imagine what God has in store for the next couple of years in and through our
church. But I believe this to be true. This was the year of uncommon favor. But
favor is not ending in 2025. It’s going to trinkle on over to 2026 and continue
on in our church, in your home, in your families. As we continue to build his
church, God’s favor is going to rain all over us. But kick off the new year with us in 2026 as we are back on site for
our first service of the year of 2026 at all of our locations and we’re kicking
it off right with 21 days of prayer. We don’t want you to miss out. Man, it’s been an incredible year. Can we pray and
end off watch party weekend? Father, we thank you and we are honored that we can build your church. We’re grateful for
what you’ve done as we’ve heard all today. Faithful then, faithful now, faithful forever. We thank you for then
and all that you’ve done. We thank you for the now and what you’re doing in this moment. But we thank you forever as
you continue to build your church in the Pacific Northwest here in Yakama West
Valley in Belleview, in Dupont, in Tacoma, in the lives of those who attend our church. You’re not done yet. So we
thank you as we end an incredible year. But we’re expected and excited for another great year and all that you have
in store. We are builders. We are fighters. And we will continue to advance the kingdom and move the church
forward. In Jesus mighty name we pray. Amen.
