How many of you thankful for the Holy Spirit today?
Come on. Are you thankful for the presence of God?
So great to have all of you with us again on this weekend. I want to thank you for being a church that’s not just an Easter church.
or a holiday church.
I want to thank you for being as consistent and faithful as you are.
And as I say that, I’m thinking about the church that is serving across all of
our locations and those who are serving in various ways today. uh those who are
serving in our children’s uh with our with our church kids today.
We are thankful for you. Uh we are thankful. Yeah.
We’re thankful for our welcoming teams, our hospitality teams, our greeting teams. We thank you today for our
worshiping teams. We thank you for everyone who’s involved in the life of the church. And uh I feel blessed to be
able to pastor a great church like this church and I’m so thankful.
We’re in a series on the Holy Spirit, his presence, his purpose, and his power. His presence, his purpose, and
his power. Next week I’m going to talk about the coming of the Holy Spirit in Acts chapter 2
and how that one day in Acts chapter 2, if you want to read ahead this week maybe and just read about it and get
ready for next weekend, how that one day has impacted the world since that time.
And we’re going to talk about that next week. Last week we talked about God’s presence. We talked about how the Holy
Spirit is the invisible tangible presence of God and most of what I want
to talk about today is the purpose of the Holy Spirit. So, we’re talking about his presence.
But then some people wonder, well, why why his presence? And we’re going to talk about today and really lean into his purpose.
He hasn’t just come to cause us to have an emotional moment or to feel, you know, what what it’s like to feel God.
But there’s a purpose in his coming into our life. And I’m going to talk about some of that today. And I’m mainly going to focus on the teachings of Jesus about
the Holy Spirit in John chapter 14. So if you’re ready, just say, “My heart’s open.” My heart’s open.
My mind’s ready. Make me better, God. Make me better, God. By your word. By your word. I receive it.
I receive it. And I believe it. I believe it. And I won’t be the same again. In Jesus name. In Jesus name.
Amen. You may be seated.
We want to begin John 14 verse 16 where Jesus is is talking. He says, “I
will ask the father and he will give you another helper.” Everybody say helper
to be with you forever. He says, “I I will ask the Father who’ll give you another helper to be with you forever.
Even the Spirit of truth who the world cannot receive doesn’t because it neither sees him nor knows him, but you
know him and he dwells with you and he will be in you.” This is Jesus talking
about the Holy Spirit coming and he is preparing his disciples and helping them
begin to get their head around what’s going to happen in that there is going to be another who will come. Now,
first thing I want you to notice is that he says he will be with you forever.
He will be with you forever. So Jesus was referencing the fact that he had been with them for 33 years and he was
going to be gone. Like physically he was he was he was gone. He was going to be gone. But he was saying now the one that is coming will be with you forever.
Everybody say forever. Forever.
So he’s referencing the eternal nature of the Holy Spirit. And he’s saying to them, he doesn’t leave you.
Even even though I’m physically going to be absent, I want you to know that my presence is still going to be here and
the presence of almighty God is still going to be with you.
How many of you know, are are you thankful today that even when you don’t see God, God’s working?
Do do you know that? Like, have you crossed over into that territory of faith where you know that, okay, I don’t feel God right now, but I know God’s
here. Like, I know God is with me. God is working in my life. And if you’re like me, I have, you know, I have a
challenge with patience. Like, I I I want it and I want it now.
Like, that that that’s I’m just being honest. like I’m patience is not my natural
strength or virtue. So sometimes I’m like like really like waiting.
I have to wait longer. Like I mean I I don’t like lines of any kind. I don’t like traffic lines. I don’t like
standing in line. I don’t confession is good for the soul, right?
And so my point is that having the understanding that sometimes the reason
the reason that God hasn’t shown up in a certain way to answer a prayer in your life is that
if it has to do with another person, for example, maybe the other person isn’t ready. Maybe you’re praying for Mr.
Wonderful and Mr. Wonderful isn’t wonderful yet. I’m talking about a single gal today.
Like God might be working on making Mr. Pitiful, Mr. Wonderful just for you.
Like it just may not be time yet, right?
And so you’re Come on, God. Come on, God. Do this, God. Do that, God. But but the Holy Spirit doesn’t have the time
restrictions we have. He doesn’t work with the time elements or the the the lack of patience. Like he’s got time. He
and and and so it it starts with this whole concept.
We’ll talk about it some more uh in the series, but it starts with this whole concept of that he will be with you forever. Like
I’m introducing you to the eternal spirit of God who will be by your side.
And then he goes on and he says or not on but the other thing that I want to talk a little bit more about is that the Holy Spirit is our helper.
Yeah. the the Holy Spirit is on your side.
He is for you. He’s not against you. And if you’re a believer, he is He’s not
like standing outside of you, merely watching you and waiting for you to screw up, mess up,
goof up, waiting for you to fail. That’s not who he is. And if you think of him like the condemmer of you or you think
of him that’s the one who is like like you know doubting you and you’ve got a wrong image of who the Holy Spirit is.
The the Holy Spirit is on your side.
Like he is for you. He is ready to engage you. He is waiting for your agreement and obedience so that he can
help you. Like if you’re stuck and you’re in a holding pattern and you’re not you’re you’re you’re being self-willed and thick scold and and and
you’re you’re not flowing with what you know is right and you’re not responding.
He he may be like, “Okay, when you’re ready, I’m ready. But the point is he’s on your side.
He can help you with your perspective. He can help you with your approach.
He can help you with your attitude. He can help you with your words.
He has wisdom for you. Somebody shout, “Helper.” Helper. Say it again. Helper. Helper.
See, the Holy Spirit knows God’s plan for your life, and he’s committed to come alongside you and bring that vision to life.
The Holy Spirit is here to help you get beyond what is possible in your own strength.
He helps people be quiet when their flesh wants to scream.
He helped people be patient when they’re like, “Let’s go.”
He helped people be poised and calm when you’re nervous.
uh you have a job interview or you have a presentation to make at work, Holy Spirit is your helper.
Somebody shout helper.
He helps us. He helps us harness our habits.
He helps us win over addictions.
He helps us win over things that would otherwise destroy us.
Somebody shout helper.
I just want you to get a right mindset about the Holy Spirit. Let let let’s read that. We’re going to go back to the
same verse again. Again, we’re in John 14. Jesus, I just want to dig and pull some of this out of what Jesus teaches us. He said, “I will ask the Father,
we’re back in verse 16. He will give you another helper.” That’s what we’ve been talking about, to be with you forever.
And then he calls him the spirit of truth. The Holy Spirit is the spirit of truth. He is our helper.
We’re talking about the purpose of the Holy Spirit. He is our helper.
And the Holy Spirit is the spirit of truth.
Scripture says that he testifies of the truth of God. He speaks truth
into our life. He guides us. He counsels us. In fact, just before Jesus said
this, he’s repeating himself, too. If I sound like I’m repeating myself, it’s because some things have to just really be understood
to be able to be familiar with who the Holy Spirit is. and and a few verses be verse 13 of this same uh John 16 Jesus
said when he the spirit of truth comes he will guide you into all truth. The Holy Spirit is the spirit of truth.
And if you want the life that God has for you, then you’re going to want the truth
more than looking good in front of other people, more than the approval of other people,
more than the approval of family and friends, and just understand the truth
sometimes hurts before it heals, Right. Right.
The truth feels bad. Yeah.
Sometimes before it makes you good. Right. Are you with me?
But I want you to understand the hol this is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is a spirit of truth.
The truth will sometimes separate you from people who don’t want the truth.
They don’t want to hear the truth. But truth is synonymous with God.
And if you build your life without truth, you build your life without God.
I want you to think about this. I want I want it to weigh heavily on you. You’re just kind of maybe thinking, well, I’m just making them happy. I’m just mixing
in with this group and that group. And when you build your life without truth, you build your life without God.
God, you’re building, but God’s like off to the side. He’s not your architect right now. He is not your general
contractor right now. You’re building something. You’re building that relationship, but you’re doing it your way. You’re not being really honest about it. You’re doing it your way.
You’re not having the tough conversation. You’re doing it your way. Right.
And again, God loves you and he wants the best for you, but he doesn’t bless lives.
Imagine building a house without an absolute truth of measurement.
If we have a measurement that is 12 in, we call it a foot, right?
It’s 12 in. It’s not 11 in.
It’s not 13 in.
And I know I know as I talk about this that we have individual personalities involved. And I want to try to be really
kind uh because I know that some of you haven’t learned the value of truth. You
don’t you’ve you’ve not grown up with truth. You’ve grown up with nuances and a little bit here, a little bit there.
Like, you know, making your way through, make everybody happy, do all the high fives like. And that’s like the way you’ve learned to go along, get along.
You don’t make any waves.
And I understand that there are personalities like that. I’m just 12 in is not 11 in.
And imagine building a house where it’s all the same. 11 in is treated as 12 in or 14 in is treated like 12 in.
Imagine what your house looks like.
Right? And a lot of people are like, well, you know, if if God’s so good, why?
And this is one of the big issues of why even people who go to church,
people who who confess Jesus as the Lord and Savior of their life, have a screwed up world
and a messed up life and a messed up home. Just one of the reasons is their their reluctance to receive 12 in is 12 ines.
The Holy Spirit is the spirit of truth. Yeah.
He doesn’t accommodate your preferences or your feelings. Yeah.
He instructs you. He guides you consistent with truth.
He never contradicts the Bible. He oversaw the writing of the scripture.
Yes.
Beware of people who play the Holy Spirit card to sound spiritual.
Don’t Don’t do that with me.
And I hope I hope some of you like in our church are doorkeepers of this because we want to be a spiritfilled church.
But there’s a difference in being a spiritfilled church and mysticism and emotion, right?
So beware of people who you know like sound spiritual like you know God told me or God hasn’t told me.
You know PK I’ll start giving when God tells me to.
The Holy Spirit already told you to. He wrote the Bible through men.
He moved upon the writer to write what is written.
If you’re saying something the Holy Spirit says that isn’t backed up by the Bible, then you’re not in tune with the Holy Spirit.
You’re in tune with your own desire to be to be thought of as spiritual or arrogant or elevate yourself. you’re you’re playing some kind of game.
I I’ve been around spiritfilled circles all my life and so
I I have had a lot of experiences with I talked about it last week when I you start talking about the Holy Spirit some
people get nervous and some people on on the other hand have never really heard about the Holy Spirit.
And so there’s this middle of the road kind of thing. It’s not it doesn’t mean middle of the road that you’re not all in. It just means and I I I’ll show you
I’ll show you something later on this message that really explains the Holy Spirit uh and and and intellect. Okay,
I’ll I’ll talk about that in a minute and some of the teaching of the Apostle Paul. But let me let me let me kind of stay on point here with what I’m at. Um
let let’s look at John 14:26. This is Jesus again. We’re just jumping about 10 verses. He says, “The advocate, the Holy
Spirit, who the father will send in my name. He will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” So, so the Holy Spirit is also our teacher.
He is our He is what? He is our helper.
He is the spirit of truth. And he is our teacher. And one of the ways that he helps us is to teach us how to live in
the will of God. He teaches us things that that grow us. He doesn’t expect you
to know everything, especially like you’re a new Christian. There’s things you’re not going to know. And but I you know, you can be serving the
Lord for many, many years and still the Holy Spirit’s got some things to teach you.
And he’s a teacher, right?
And he teaches us things that make us stronger in our faith. He eliminates blind spots that we have about ourselves.
Yeah.
He increases, if you’re if you’re open to it, he increases self-awareness. Right. Right.
He points out our pride.
And you like go, you cringe when he does that. He points out selfishness, envy.
Yeah, you go on your little and then the Holy Spirit will go, “Hang on,
you’re talking about that person right now, but what is it in you that’s getting so much joy,
right, out of running them down, bad mouthing them, criticizing them that this is the way
the Holy Spirit, he will interrupt you if If you’ll pay attention again and receive him and he
will say, “No, no, no, no. Not good for you.” Yeah.
I’m working in your life. And as I work in your life and as I teach you, instruct you, guide you, help you, coach you, you got to you got to quit that.
You understand what I’m saying? He teaches us the ways of God. Now remember what I said a while ago.
The Holy Spirit is eternal. He’s all knowing, which means that he knows your family history.
That’s pretty cool, right? Like because any counselor you go to or advisor has got to kind of start with the background
and your parents and your, you know, a good counselor will learn as much as they can about what you have faced and your experiences and what you Well, the Holy Spirit already knows.
He knows your past.
He knows where you failed. He knows what your parents said. He knows the teacher that wasn’t right with you. He knows the
abuser in your life. He knows all of that.
And and he he doesn’t like try to treat us all the same because he knows our own life experience.
It’s just beautiful when you have relationship and you’re open and receiving of his help in your life.
He knows you. He knows you.
And some of you are like, “I know. It scared me. That freaks me out.” Like, no.
Because he really cares about you.
And he knows what you actually need, not just what you think you need. He’s a teacher who is always ready to teach us.
Right. Now, there’s a there’s a saying about teacher and student that I I’ I’ve loved for years, and it it it’s
basically this, and some of you may want to write this down. When the student is ready, the teacher appears.
I love that.
when the student is ready. Now, I’m I’m a person who I teach and I can tell you right now, like I have before I knew
this, I just thought, you know, I’m going to teach this person and these people are going to their life is going to be changed.
And then I learned that well, you know what? It’s not just about me.
It’s about the student and it really doesn’t matter. I’m I’m like, and it’s been great honestly as a pastor
as I’ve matured or I’ve learned over the years because I used to just think it all was up to me. And when people
weren’t changing and things weren’t better, I’m like, I’m wearing that and I’m I got that weight and and and and
and God’s helped me as a leader to realize that, you know, when people are still doing what they do and talking
like they talk and being the way they’ve been and I’ve taught, I’ve said, I’ve given my best and they’re still doing
their deal. The Holy Spirit has helped me not to take ownership for their what they’re responsible for.
When when the student is ready, the teacher appears.
When the student is welcoming, the Holy Spirit teaches. Let Let me go back. I I said a while ago I would. So,
you might wonder this. We you’re using this phrase and you might wonder what does it mean to pray in the spirit?
What what does that mean? What does it mean in our lives when we talk about
prayer language? Let so let me let me talk about that for a minute. The apostle Paul talks about the Holy Spirit in 1 Corinthians chapter 14 and he
explains that he prayed. This is the Apostle Paul. He prayed two ways.
He said, “I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays.
If I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays.” Everybody say, “My spirit.” My spirit. But my mind, he said, is unfruitful.
So what shall I do? What do I do about that?
And then he says, I will pray with my spirit and I’ll also pray with my understanding. I will sing with my
spirit, but I’ll also sing with my understanding.
His main goal was his teaching here was
toward the church at Corenth who were newly filled with the spirit.
And people people were turning church services into a lot of praying in the spirit much more than was appropriate and helpful.
And so he was he was responsible to bring direction and correction.
And that’s what he’s doing here. He’s talking to the church at Corenth that was turning their church services
into incoherent, unintelligible gatherings of believers.
And he was saying to them that the primary way we pray and communicate when we’re together in church services is with the understanding.
We pray primarily when we’re together and communicate in unity to edify one another and to edify those who are gathered.
But he also said and I that’s why I brought it out to you. He also like just flat out puts himself out there and
says, “But I I will let you know I pray two ways.
I I pray with my understanding and I also pray with my spirit.” And when I pray from the spirit, my my
understanding doesn’t know what I’m praying. Right. Right.
And in scripture, it’s referred to as tongues, speaking in tongues. It’s referred to as groanings.
It’s a prayer language that comes from our spirit and bypasses our intellect.
And it’s called, another thing it’s called is praying in the spirit. And I know some of y’all right now, you’re like, “Oh, come on, pastor. You’re scaring me. like this is getting weird for me.
I want to uh read you a letter. I first of all, I just want to start I he I don’t think this individual has any idea
that I’m doing this today, but um there’s a couple that are a great faithful members of our Belleview
campus. Aen and his wife Marilyn at Belleview. I bet there’s a cheer going on at Belleview. I’m pausing for a
minute. Uh Aen is a just a great man who he is uh by vocation he he he is like a
math tutor. He he has his own mathematic or math teaching company and they tutor
children in math and so forth. And so he writes this letter. His wife Marilyn is a bright if you ever go to Belleview
you’ll see her bright beautiful face in the greeting at the front doors and lobbies. And so he says, “Last Sunday, Pastor Kevin spoke to us about the Holy
Spirit and about praying in the spirit.” And he mentioned how he listens to the same song repeatedly over and over again. I laugh out loud. He said,
“Because I do the same thing.” And and I’m doing that even right now while I write this note. Earlier this morning, I woke up listening to my my song.
I then started to think about back about my life and I was often homeless and hungry from about the age of 14 to 22. I
was intermittently sleeping on the streets or in my car in Seattle. I was homeless in high school at times and
again while an undergraduate at Washington DC.
He said, “This morning I looked at our home and the roof over my head and the food that we have, and then in these
thoughts while listening to my song, I I began in these thoughts while listening
to my song, I began to cry. And then it just turned into heavy tears.
And when I tried to open my mouth to thank God for all that he has done for
me, my words began to stammer and I was uttering a speech that I could not
translate nor even explain to you. Now, I wasn’t sad. I I was glad that the Lord
was reminding me of his love and his goodness to me in my life.
But I could not even use intelligible language at that moment to to express myself to him.
And then he says,”I want to hear more teaching on the Holy Spirit this Sunday.” And then and then he said, “God the
Father, his son Jesus were what I’ve understood most about and now I’m overjoyed to learn about the Holy
Spirit.” Isn’t that beautiful?
Now, now that there been numerous ones who have been writing or commenting and that one I just really liked. I’m going
to tell you why. Because you may not remember, you probably don’t remember, but when I started last week, I introduced you to the writer Luke and
he’s the one who talks about in the book of he wrote the book of Acts. And I said he he wasn’t a one of the 12 disciples.
He was a Greek physician. So he was very intelligent and and I I brought note to that because I think that when we start
talking about prayer as something that passes your brain, your intellect like intelligent people
have the most struggle, like the more intelligent you are, and I don’t mean this mean, I just mean that that that
the brain gets in the way cuz you know you’re like, “Hallelujah.
Thank you, Jesus.” and all of a sudden that oh and and it and you stop and you want to like that’s stupid.
That’s right. I’m jber jabbering right now.
And so that’s why I said that about Luke because he’s the one God chose to write about the Holy Spirit, the book of Acts of all books.
And I noted that and you may have wondered why. Well, this is why Ake is a he’s an intelligent man. Like he’s he’s a teacher himself.
And I just found it like Yes. I just love it whenever someone who relies on their mind a lot and their brain a lot
surrenders to the teaching of the word of God and allows the Holy Spirit to pray through their spirit.
And you know he he said I was being reminded. So my last point said I was being reminded of what the Lord has done for me in that moment. I was weeping. My
last point is that the Holy Spirit is our reminder.
As a believer, you will hopefully learn a lot more than you can actually retain in your own memory.
You will go to over 50 services a year.
Hopefully, you will attend events and conferences.
You may hopefully even listen to some podcasts during the week and get some teaching, be a part of a Bible group or
have a Bible app on your daily devotional. This is the life of a believer. Uh you’ll hear other people’s
testimonies of God’s goodness and power in their life. And you may wonder sometimes, well, is this extra
information actually helpful? Like the information I’m not retaining, Pastor Kevin, I can’t even remember what you said two minutes ago.
Like, like, is it really helpful?
And the good news is is that when you put yourself in a place to keep drinking in the knowledge and the wisdom of God,
right? And especially when you will memorize something or you will put it, you know, take it to heart like I’m
doing with you today. The Holy Spirit is our what? He is our helper.
You know, the Holy Spirit is the spirit of truth. The Holy Spirit is our teacher.
The Holy Spirit is a reminder. If you if you take that and you like memorize it in your devotion this week or you put
like it’s amazing if you just show the effort to remember.
If you just show the effort, here’s what’s amazing is that the Holy Spirit, one of the things he does for us is he
reminds us of things that we have learned that we’ve been taught already
and he brings it to our memory or things we’ve walked through in life and we remember how good God has been.
Sometimes when you’re feeling I don’t know how Aake felt that morning, but sometimes, you know, we’re just going about the day and we haven’t really
thanked God in a while and we’re going about our week and then you have a moment like that and you realize like, where would I be if it were not for the
Lord? That’s the way the Holy Spirit talks.
You might be in a, you know, a feeling like, oh, when’s something going to go right for me? like and the and you know
the next morning you wake up and the Holy Spirit heard that, felt that, sensed that and the Holy Spirit would be there to just remind you of how right things have gone for you.
How good things have been for you.
You might be in a place where you’re afraid or you’re worried. The Holy Spirit will remind you of a message that you heard, a scripture
in the Bible, words of faith spoken to you in your past to just encourage you and empower you with hope and confidence. One of the fun
things about pastoring and teaching like I do right now. this is fun and and that is that I’ll be sometimes I’ll I’ll I’ll
do a message like I am today and I I’ll have people say to me, you know, later that day or during the week, they’ll
say, you know, Pastor Kevin, when you said such and such and such and such, that was speaking right to my life.
And I go back and I’m like, I didn’t say that. I I didn’t say that.
Now, you heard that you’re not crazy.
And and I’m not even suggesting that it was formative words as much as I said something. I gave a reference to
something and something filled your mind with a revelation or recollection or something that caused you to think it of
it that way. But I didn’t actually say that. Thank you for the credit. God bless you. But that was the Holy Spirit.
That’s the Holy Spirit.
You might be in a tight place in your life financially and the Holy Spirit would be there to remind
you that there’s a person in your life or at church who you should talk to or
there’s a book that you read that you should go pull it out of the bookshelf and revisit it a little bit again.
There’s some stuff in there that could help you right now. The Holy Spirit may not download it all to you, but the Holy Spirit may tell you who to talk to, what
door to walk through, what book to get back to. He’s a reminder.
He’s a reminder.
Again, he’s a spirit of truth. I a few weeks ago, my wife uh
Sheila, I was we were sitting together or something and she reached over and she grabbed a a piece of my
I don’t have a lot, thank God. But she grabbed right here. What’s this?
She smiled real big, you know. She said, “It just seems like there’s a little bit more of that going on right now.
and she’ll tell you like the next day I stepped on the scale. I came out to her.
I said, “You were right. There’s a little bit more of that going on right now.” And I just, you know, I started I think it’s been three or four weeks ago.
I started that change. I said, “Shifting gears right now. I’m I’m strong. God’s
with me.” like I just had this confidence and you know and here we go. And we laughed about it and it was fun.
But somewhere in the process of all of that, I remember a day where I I was I think I’ve lost I don’t know 10 or 12
pounds. not not not a lot, but I I’ve lost this weight and and there was a day I I stepped on the scale
and I had gained weight and I hadn’t changed anything that I could remember.
So, you know, I told her, “I gained weight. Must be I’m building muscle.
Must be muscle.” You know, make some kind of silly.
Um, but I remember thinking to myself, that scale doesn’t lie.
Like, remember I said the ruler doesn’t lie. It’s 12 in is 12 in.
That scale doesn’t lie.
My point is that when the spirit of truth is allowed access to your life, and I don’t know, by the way, how many
of you husbands and wives have that kind of relationship, but I recommend it.
You don’t have to be brutal to be honest and truthful.
And I’m not talking about weight. I’m just talking about a lot of husbands and wives don’t they know territory they have to completely avoid.
And husbands and wives are supposed to help one another.
Now, if I had walked away that day, if I’d got offended, if I’d said, “Who are you?” You know, and and I could have
truthfully said, “I exercise more than you do.” Like, I could have done I didn’t say any of that. It would have been true. But point
is, do you understand you can get defensive? And sometimes I have. I do. I I’m just trying to help you understand the spirit of truth.
Is not your enemy. He is your helper.
He’ll remind you, hey, hey, remember that commitment you made in January?
Remember, and you’re like, but if you allow him, he will remind you
of commitments you’ve made. He’ll remind you that you are powerful. He will remind you that you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.
He will be such a blessing in your life. Amen. Amen.
So, let’s remember as we move forward here, let’s just remember who he is and let’s not run
away from him. And let’s, you know, if you have a cringe factor when he says you need to, you need to not move forward with that relationship right now.
He is not good for you. He is not the man I have for you.
If you’re a girl, a woman, a lady, and you get in a relationship and something says, “Pump the brakes,” don’t ignore that.
Don’t ignore that.
That’s that’s the spirit of God that is tangible.
Even though he is invisible, he is with us. He’s come to be in us.
He’s come to help us, teach us, remind us, tell us the truth.
And I hope today that you know, my hope is in the church as you experience things, by the way, tell me tell me about write us and tell us about what
the Holy Spirit’s doing, what God’s doing in your life. I’d love to I’d love to hear more stories and more what’s going on in your world. But I just hope
our church will I hope our church will really open your life and open yourself. And
if you’re singing a song and all of a sudden you don’t understand what you’re singing, sing anyway. Open your mouth
and sing. The Apostle Paul said, “I sing with the understanding and I sing with the spirit.”
If you if you’re worshiping God and the words are not ju in other words, just go there. Just go ahead and engage the Holy Spirit and wa watch what happens.
If you need joy today, I promise you, he is the joy giver. If you need peace today, he is the peacegiver.
Many people say, “Well, I love God and I need God.” But then we get into a time like this and a lot of people like they’re like, “Don’t don’t do that,
please. I I I can’t go home with you today, but he can.
And and he will be there to minister to you, to encourage you, and to strengthen you
if he has a green light from you to actually be in your world and be in
your life. And you’ll find you’ll find his peace, his joy, his strength. You’ll find the goodness of God. You’ll find
the life of God. You’ll find God has more for you than you ever imagined. He He He’s blessed you more than you’ve
ever realized. And he’s given you a hope and a promise for the future in your life.
You receive this today. You receive this today. Amen. God is so good.

I’m going to ask you to stay in your where you are in your space, but stand if you would.
Would you just lift your hands up right now? Will you do that? Just raise your hands.
God, you moved in power.
God move in power. Now you are the same God. You are the Holy Spirit. Oh, Holy
Spirit power with power fills. We pray the same God.
You are the same God.
You are a You are a heer now. You are the same God. You are the same God.
You are a savior then. You are a savior. Now you are the savior.
You are the same god. Oh god. My god. I need you. Oh god. My god. I need you
now. I need you now.
Oh rock. Oh rock of aes I’m sitting on your faithfulness on your faithfulness.
Oh God my God I need you. Oh God my God I need you. God’s power I need you now.
Welcome the Holy Spirit in you today and you are standing on your
church. We just lift our hands all across our rooms right now online. Would you just lift up your hands and begin to
worship? God, you’re good. God, you’re faithful. Holy Spirit God, I love you, Jesus.
I love you Jesus. Faithful God.
You’re faithful God.
Oh God, I need you. Oh God, my God, I need you. Oh God, my God, I need you
now. How I need you now.
Oh rock. Oh rock of ages. I’m standing on your faithfulness
on your faithfulness.
In this moment, at all of our locations, I believe there are people here are ready to make bold commitments to serve
Jesus Christ and make him the leader and the Lord of your life. And if you’re in this space right now, or maybe you’re joining us at one of our locations and
that’s you, would you do this? Would you just boldly lift your hand wherever you are? And we’re going to go together in prayer this morning. I see hands being
lifted across the location here in Tacoma. I know there’s hands being lifted at all of our locations this morning. We’re going to go boldly and
we’re going to pray this prayer. And if that’s you, you feel the nudge of the Holy Spirit. That means something on the
inside of you is starting to move and you’re feeling your heartbeat a little bit faster. That’s God speaking to you and saying, “I love you. I want to help
you. I just need you to make a choice to serve me so that I can bless your life.” If that’s you this morning, would
everyone just bow their heads and just repeat after me and say, “Lord Jesus, welcome to my world
today. I invite you to be the leader and the Lord of my life. I confess all my
sin to you and believe that you’re making me whole and new again.
And I declare boldly that I will never be the same again in Jesus mighty name.
And everybody shouted a big amen.
