Faith That Moves Us Forward
Faith That Moves Us Forward
It’s one thing to believe something in your heart. It’s another thing to let that belief shape the way you live.
Think about a seed. You can hold it in your hand, admire it, and imagine what it could become. But for it to grow, it has to be planted. Growth begins when something is put into action.
Our faith works in a similar way.
We can believe God is faithful, trust that He has a plan, and pray for what’s ahead. But faith also invites us to take the next step, to respond to what we believe with obedience, generosity, courage, and action.
James 2:17 reminds us that faith, by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. In other words, what we believe should make a difference in how we live.
Sometimes that next step is big. Sometimes it’s incredibly ordinary.
It might look like choosing forgiveness when holding on to hurt feels easier. It might mean being generous when you could choose to keep everything for yourself. It might be having a difficult conversation, serving someone who needs help, or making a decision that reflects your trust in God rather than your fear of the unknown.
And sometimes, that next step is giving.
Generosity is one of the ways we put our faith into action. When we give, we acknowledge that what we have is not just for us. God can use what He’s placed in our hands to encourage others, strengthen His Church, and make a difference that reaches far beyond what we can see.
That’s why Legacy matters.
Our Legacy Offering is an opportunity to participate in what God is doing through Champions Centre. It’s a practical expression of our willingness to invest in the mission, the people, and the generations that will follow us.
This isn’t about giving to guarantee a particular outcome or trying to earn God’s favor. It’s about responding to His faithfulness with hearts that are willing to trust, obey, and live generously.
We may not know exactly what our actions will produce. We may never see every life touched or every story changed. But we can choose to be faithful with the opportunity in front of us.
And here’s the encouraging part: you don’t have to do everything today. You just have to be willing to take your next step.
So, think back to what you wrote on your Legacy house last week. What are you believing God for? How might that belief change the way you live today?
Maybe your next step is a conversation. Maybe it’s an act of generosity. Maybe it’s choosing to trust God in an area where you’ve been holding on tightly.
Whatever it is, don’t underestimate the power of a faithful next step.
Faith moves us forward when we put what we believe into practice.
As we continue through Legacy Season, let’s be people who don’t just talk about faith, but live it . . . one decision, one act of obedience, and one generous step at a time.
Reflection: What is one practical way I can put my faith into action this week?
