What Is Legacy? (A Kingdom Perspective)
Every person leaves a legacy. The question isn’t if we’ll leave one, but what kind it will be.
In the Kingdom of God, legacy isn’t about buildings, possessions, or personal recognition, it’s about what lives on because of our obedience, generosity, and unity today. Legacy is the story God continues to write through the faith of His people, a story that’s multiplied when we come together.
Legacy is about impact.
In the world, legacy often means success, achievement, or being remembered for what we’ve done. But in the Kingdom, legacy is about who is reached, helped, and changed because we lived with purpose. It’s not about my name being known, it’s about His Name being glorified through our shared effort.
Jesus taught that when we give, we participate in something eternal. “Give, and it will be given to you — a good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over.” (Luke 6:38) The measure we use in generosity becomes the measure God uses to pour back into our lives — not just individually, but collectively. Together, our generosity becomes overflow.
Legacy is built through faith, sacrifice, and unity.
Paul wrote, “Whoever sows generously will also reap generously.” (2 Corinthians 9:6)
Legacy is built every time someone chooses to sow — to give, to believe, to sacrifice — and it grows stronger when we do it together.
God doesn’t call us to equal participation; He calls us to equal sacrifice. Each of us brings what we can, but together we build what none of us could build alone.
When we give toward Legacy, we’re declaring that what God is doing in and through His Church is worth our best — and that we’re in it together.
Legacy is about eternity.
A Kingdom worldview reminds us that what we do for ourselves fades, but what we do for God and for others endures forever. Our collective generosity builds places where people meet Jesus, where families are restored, and where the next generation is equipped to lead.
We may never see the full impact of our giving this side of eternity, but heaven will tell the story of what we built together.
This Legacy Season
As we prepare for
Legacy Offering Sunday on November 16, let’s give with vision, faith, and unity. Let’s bring our best measure — trusting that God will take what’s in our hands, multiply it, and use it to change lives.
Legacy isn’t about the size of our gift; it’s about the posture of our heart and the strength of our unity.
Because when we give from a Kingdom mindset — together — there’s no limit to what God can do through His Church. Let's keep building the church and fighting for our families.
